You'll fly north of the tree line and land at our main lodge on Mosquito Lake, Northwest Territories. From there you will embark on a trip to the mighty Dubawnt Lake in Nunavut. Dubawnt Lake is the16th largest freshwater lake in all of North America. The only camps in the area are the three owned by Tukto Lodge.

Over the next three or four days, traveling along the Dubawnt River chain by Zodiac, you'll tour over 100 miles across crystal-clear lakes and thrilling rapids. Whether you are here for the trophy fishing or the starkly beautiful scenery and fascinating wildlife, you won't be disappointed. This is one Arctic adventure you will never forget.

Adventure amidst Wild, Untouched Beauty

The Dubawnt River chain is a virgin wilderness, with countless lakes and rivers, many never fished before. The tundra is a vast barren land, where few have set foot. You will see why many refer to the Arctic as the last frontier.

The days are an angler's heaven. Cast your rod into the many Arctic lakes along the way, known around the world for their trophy trout. The rivers, with their numerous rapids reveal exciting grayling opportunities. In the evenings, you'll camp out in the Land of the Midnight Sun, and visitors in mid-to-late August will be able to catch the Aurora Borealis (northern lights), a dancing swirling light that illuminates the sky at night.

In addition to the world-class trophy fishing you'll be in a photographer's and naturalist's paradise. You're sure to see musk-ox, caribou, ptarmigan and more along your trip through the heart of the Northwest Territories. In fact, the native Inuit people, following the migration path of their beloved caribou, have used the route you will be following for hundreds of years. Take time to explore the rivers edge for remains of tent rings where the Inuit people camped out.
